Introducing the Interns: Danielle Sudds

How would you describe Davis in one sentence?

“An enthusiastic team of creative people who are always prepared to overcome any problem and create the best solutions.” – Danielle Sudds, 2019

It’s summer and that means intern time at Davis! Every year, we work with students from various disciplines to help kick-start their professional careers. Our internship program runs for the whole summer and gives our students a taste of life at a design agency. Every year we learn from the young, bright minds that work alongside us as we give them exposure to every facet of our business. This year, we wanted to share what the experience is like through the interns’ lens.

Danielle “Suddsy” Sudds is a Dalhousie University Alumni that graduated with a Bachelor of Business Management earlier this year. Danielle’s friends describe her as outgoing, maybe funny, and smart (not Bill Gates smart but still smart). Her experience with Glenn Davis Group started in the summer of 2018 for an 8-month communications internship and she’s back this summer as a Project Management intern working with our Ford Team. Working at Davis combines her passion for fine arts and her drive for business management.

When asked about her favourite part of the job, she said “Working with this team is fun; it’s creative problem solving on the go. It’s very interesting and I learn something every day”. One of the first things she noticed about Davis was the welcoming atmosphere and friendly smiles of all the staff. Starting a new job is always nerve-wracking, but Danielle said she always felt comfortable as a part of the team and felt her ideas and opinions were valued. She wants to immerse herself in the inclusive company culture and understand what it’s like to be part of the team, on both a professional and a personal level. Danielle is learning how to establish relationships internally and grow her network when she can through chatting on lunch breaks, collaborating with different teams on various projects and reaching out to set up informational interviews.

We’ll follow up with Danielle later this summer to see what else she’s learned. If you liked this article, don’t forget to click the link below and check out our interview with Marissa Ouellette, one of our design interns over at Bridgemark!
