Organizers of 2023 Pentawards have announced their shortlist and McCormick & Company’s The Ten has earned a coveted position on it.
Davis collaborated with long-time client McCormick & Company on the design of this limited-edition collection of essential spices. Introduced in time for the 2022 holiday season and sold exclusively through direct-to-consumer channels, The Ten is an exciting innovation developed to attract new and younger users to the category.
All bottles are thoughtfully designed for easier storage with a sleek shape and uniform size. Eliminating the consumer struggle of fumbling through mismatched jars, packets, and tins, each eye-catching shaker employs a color-coded numbering system. This communication approach improves recognition of each offering, amplifies effective organization, and creates an easier overall meal-prep experience. A recipe card held in the centre of the box invites consumers to put The Ten to work with a QR code revealing a wealth of McCormick recipes.
“From an innovation perspective, The Ten is a brilliant idea for consumers who are either new to cooking or those who are looking to start over with fresh product,” says Davis Creative Director, Mark Roberts. “The creative is simple, clean, and really lets the usefulness and ease of the collection speak for itself.”
Founded in Brussels in 2007, the Pentawards is an annual competition recognizing global excellence in packaging design. Since its inception, more than 30,00 entries have been submitted from participants in 95 countries across the world.
Pentawards winners will be announced later this summer.
